Mahdi Hassan

Dr. Mahdi Hassan is a robotics researcher and Hub Manager of the ARC Research Hub for Human–Robot Teaming for Sustainable and Resilient Construction (HaRTCon) at the University of Technology Sydney. With a PhD in robotics and a multidisciplinary background spanning mechanical engineering, software development, and AI, he focuses on bridging cutting-edge research with real-world impact.

 

In this role, he works with researchers from seven Australian universities and industry partners to support advances in developing human-centric intelligent robotic systems that enhance safety, productivity, and sustainability in complex construction environments. The aim is to bring together universities, industry, and government to drive innovation and translate research into practical solutions that address major challenges such as labour shortages, low productivity, and environmental impact in the construction sector.
