Thomas Do
Thomas Do PhD is a Senior Lecturer in Artificial Intelligence/Data Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS). He is a Co-Director of the Human-Centric Artificial Intelligence (HAI) Centre. His research interests span neural engineering, AI-empowered Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) systems, human–AI interaction, and physical AI for assistive and defence applications.
During his PhD, Dr Do collaborated with the Technical University of Berlin (Germany), the University of California San Diego (USA), and the US Army Research Laboratory. His research spans AI, Human–Computer Interaction, Brain–Computer Interfaces, and Robotics, with a focus on integrating BCI technologies into everyday applications. He explores the convergence of AI, data science, neural engineering, and HCI to unlock the full potential of non-invasive BCIs.
Thomas is a Chief Investigator on the ARC Research Hub for Human-Robot Teaming for Sustainable and Resilient Construction, contributing expertise in neural interfaces and physical AI for decision making.
