Carl Barrett

Carl Barrett, BSc (Hons), MBA, is a sustainability professional with over 18 years of experience at BGC (Australia) Pty Ltd, a leading construction and building materials company in Western Australia. His work bridges industry operations and applied research, turning concepts into outcomes in the built environment.

 

BGC has regularly been Western Australia’s largest home builder by volume and is the parent company of Midland Brick, the State’s major supplier of clay and masonry bricks.

 

At HaRTCon, Carl works collaboratively with researchers, practitioners, and industry partners to advance operational sustainability. His focus includes reducing waste, energy use and greenhouse gas emissions; improving design and construction of homes; and driving material productivity gains through a human-centred approach that connects research insights with practical on-the-ground implementation.
