Carol K. H. Hon

Associate Professor Carol K. H. Hon is a leading researcher in construction health, safety, and mental wellbeing, serving in the School of Architecture and Built Environment at Queensland University of Technology (QUT). With a background in quantity surveying, she brings extensive research and practical expertise to areas including construction safety and health, mental health, digital engineering, gender diversity, work design and the future of work. Currently, she is Safety Theme Coordinator of the Building 4.0 CRC and co-leads the Construction and Architectural 

Robotics Lab (CARL) at QUT. Her research has produced impactful works such as a research-based textbook on RMAA (Repair, Maintenance, Minor Alteration, and Addition) safety, a Bayesian network model for psychosocial hazards in construction, and publications in leading journals like Safety Science, ASCE Journal of Construction Engineering and Management. She was awarded an ARC DECRA in 2019 for improving mental health and safety in the construction industry. Her Google Scholar profile shows over 3,200 citations, with an h-index of 30.
