ARC Industrial Transformation Research Hub for
Human-Robot Teaming for
Sustainable and Resilient Construction (HaRTCon)

Resul Dagdanov
Resul Dagdanov is a PhD candidate at the Robotics Institute, School of Electrical, Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering, University of Technology Sydney. His research is in human-centric robotics: designing intelligent robots that work alongside humans, with humans, and for humans. He studies human trust in robots, and how robots can adapt to human behaviour to become trusted teammates rather than simple tools. His work supports the Hub's goal of safe and effective human-robot teaming in construction. He is supervised by Dikai Liu and Milan Andrejevic.
Resul holds a bachelor's degree in astronautical engineering and a master's degree in aeronautical and astronautical engineering from Istanbul Technical University. Before joining UTS in 2023, he worked as a software engineer at Baykar Defence, developing path-planning algorithms for unmanned aerial vehicles. He then worked as a machine learning engineer at Eatron Technologies, building decision-making systems for autonomous ground vehicles and battery management systems for electric vehicles. As he wanders through the uncharted steppe lands of robotics, Resul is guided by one core principle: putting people first. He believes the future of robotics is not only about building more capable machines, but about building robots that people want to work with.
