Mina Mortazavi

Mina Mortazavi is a Senior Lecturer in Structural Engineering at the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology (FEIT), University of Technology Sydney (UTS). Her expertise spans structural engineering, off-site and modular construction, and sustainable timber and hybrid structural systems.

Mina’s research focuses on innovative prefabricated and deployable construction systems, including timber/steel-based modular structures, foldable and transportable building solutions, and hybrid systems. She has expertise in Dowel Laminated Timber (DLT), Nail Laminated Timber (NLT), and emerging sustainable materials and construction technologies that support rapid deployment, resilience, and reduced embodied carbon.

She has led and contributed to ARC-funded projects and industry-partnered research programs, working with construction and manufacturing partners to translate research outcomes into practical, testable solutions. Her work places emphasis on constructability, automation, and the integration of advanced manufacturing into structural systems.
